ATLANTA’S PLACEMENT MUSIC SCORES BIG AS FOX SPORTS COMMISSIONS “DECLARATION ANTHEM” FOR SUPER BOWL’S SALUTE TO AMERICA
JANUARY 27, 2011 (ATLANTA) — Placement Music, a new Atlanta-based company specializing in custom music and score for a wide range of media, was chosen by FOX Sports to create a commissioned original score for its all-new presentation of the ‘Declaration of Independence’ in what has become a FOX SUPER BOWL SUNDAY tradition. The almost seven-minute piece titled “Declaration Anthem” was composed by Placement Music team member Steve Dancz, who has composed and conducted numerous orchestral scores for television and film and is director of Jazz Studies at the University of Georgia.
“On February 6, FOX Sports will have the attention of an estimated 100 million Americans as well as millions more people in more than 200 countries. There is no better opportunity to celebrate America, and our unique depiction of the ‘Declaration of Independence’ has become the cornerstone of our Super Bowl coverage,” said Jennifer Pransky, feature producer, FOX Sports. “When producing this year’s piece, we knew the images would have to do justice to the words written in 1776, and that choosing the right music was going to be crucial. The credentials of the award-winning Placement Music team are remarkable and their original score ‘Declaration Anthem’ is inspired because of the dedication and talent of their people. We hope we have created a piece that will stir emotions in every American, and use the Super Bowl stage honorably to remind the world why we love our home, sweet, home.”
